This is my country,
The land that begat me,
These windy spaces
Are surely my own.
And those who toil here
In the sweat of their faces
Are flesh of my flesh
And bone of my bone

(Sir Alexander Gray - 1882 to 1968)

Welcome to our 'Boorach of Stronachs' - the story of the origins and evolution of 'Stronach'.

We are principally concerned here with the history of 'Stronach' and we present the results of our research into the Stronach name and into Scotland's bygone Stronachs and Stronach families. This work arose as an extension of our research into our own family history and, as part of our documentation of the history of Stronach, we set out to create a detailed photographic record of places associated with Stronach. This photographic record does much to bring the research to life.

The material we have so far assembled is accessed from the 'History' link on the left. Please note though that the site is very much 'work in progress' and some pages have yet to be completed; in fact, some have still to be included!

Thinking that having photographic documentation may be of interest to others involved in researching their own family histories, we also offer a service to anyone seeking a photographic record of their North-East Scotland background. More information about this can be found from the 'Service' link.

We also provide a list of the site contents in case of navigational problems and also to allow direct access to any page or group of pages.
