| Walks programme 2012 Updates are shown in red January Tuesday 24: Walk. Location: Kingswells. Organiser Robin Dyer. Meet at the MCA Building at 10.15am to arrange car sharing. Drive to Dobbies Garden Centre on Lang Stracht and park there. Put on boots for walk to and around Kingswells returning in approx 90 mins to Dobbies for a snack/lunch before returning home. Please contact Robin if you intend going on the walk. February Tuesday 14: Walk. Location: Hazlehead. Organiser Robin Dyer.

car sharing. Drive to old Dobbies car park at Hazlehead and park
there. Put on boots for walk around Hazlehead Policies returning in
approx 90 mins to "Somebody Cares" restaurant for snack/lunch before
returning home. Please contact Robin if you intend going on the
walk. March Tuesday 20th: Walk. Location: Glen Dye. Organisers – Margaret MacFarquhar and Patsy Russell.
Meet at the MCA Building to arrange car sharing at 9.00am. Glen Dye circuit, approx. 4.4 miles on good paths. Lunch at Buchanans. Please let Patsy or Margaret know by Friday16th March.
April Thursday 19th: Walk. Location: Coull to Aboyne. Organiser – John Park.
Meet at the MCA Building to arrange car sharing at 9.00am. Four miles in total. Undulating but generally down hill and mainly on paths. There is a half mile section which passes through woodland / soft damp ground. This walk includes part of the new cycle track that follows the Tarland (otherwise known as: Coull) burn. Sights include Coull church and the castle remains, Aboyne Castle, Coo Cathedral and a stone circle. We finishing at the Ship Inn Aboyne for lunch at approx.1 pm where a good range of food (snacks to main courses) is available at reasonable prices. We will need to let the Inn know numbers in advance so please let Janet and John Park know if you are going by mid-day Wednesday 18th April.

Tuesday 22nd: Walk. Location: Persley Den to Donmouth. Organiser – Keith Good. The walk goes along the banks of River Don via Granholm and Brig of Balgownie - .approx 4.5miles. The path can be a little muddy in places along river banks! Lunch at the Sand Dollar Beach Esplanade for 1pm. Coffee break for those who need a "caffeine fix". Meet at MCA 9.30am. (Note the change of time). Please let Keith Good know by by Monday 21st May if you intend going on the walk. |
