News ItemsCults Pool Early Morning Swimming Pilot Liz Thomas has brought our attention to the commencement of early morning swimming for us at the Cults academy swimming pool. I am informed that it has taken over 2 years of effort to reach this stage which is at a Pilot stage ( I presume there is a defined period in which the need for this will be assessed). The Pilot starts on May 1st so we need to spread the word quickly to any potential users. See details of the service and application form.
The following message from
Nigel Prichard may be of interest:
Jane and I swim (free with
a Bon Accord card) most weekends at Cults between 0900 and 1200. The early
morning swim mentioned on Tuesdays and Fridays requires joining a club and
paying a monthly or quarterly fee. 050 members might be better served if
they want to swim free during the week to pop over to Bucksburn where there
are public sessions from 0900 thru to 13.30 as well as 1900 to 20.30.
O50 Favourite RecipesYvonne Weir would like more recipes for the 050 cookery book. She only has about 20 at present and would like many more to make it worth while. Please if you haven’t already given your contribution to Yvonne do so soon. We would like to have the book available for the Diamond Jubilee Party in June. Recipes from any category. i.e. soups, starters, mains, puds or cakes will be most welcome.
Follow up on the Christmas Dinner
Please read the message below from Graeme Cardno and give him your suggestions.
"For this last Christmas dinner, Robin, Aileen, Dorothy & I decided that, as we have had assorted musical entertainment over the past few parties, it would be nice to have a quiet programme and allow everybody to chat and enjoy good food, good company and be able to concentrate on John & Janet's must have quiz. Is this the format you would like us to adopt this year (2012) or is there some sort of entertainment that you would like us to consider this time or also for future years? Please let us have some feedback as it would be a great help for us to prepare the type of Christmas Party that you like best."
Please reply as soon as possible whilst it is fresh in your mind. Either phone or e mail: Robin Dyer or Graeme Cardno. MCA MembershipThe MCA constitution has been reviewed and updated and as a result the practice of automatically granting resident’s membership has been changed. It is now required that people wishing to be members should declare their wish and be registered on the MCA records. There is no charge for membership and it is a one off application. There are two membership classifications Full and Associate. Only Full Members can vote at General Meetings and there is really no benefit in becoming an Associate Member. As users of the Community facilities we also have a group membership. The majority of our members at the BBQ have already joined as Full Members. By registering as a Full member you are on the MCA electoral role and can make your views count should the need arise. Please register. A form is available here. If you send the completed application form to John Park it will save a lot of MCA administration as he can act as a post box between the MCA and ourselves. Annual SubscriptionPlease note that the annual subs of £10 pp. for the 2011/2012 period were due in September. Please make cheques payable to “Milltimber 050 Club” and drop them off to Dorothy Cardno’s house.
New Members
We would like to encourage more Milltimber residents to join our group, especially those from the younger end of our age spectrum.
